Cast iron stove for cauldron

- A shield formwork is built on top of waterproofing, slightly larger than the height of the concrete part of the foundation is planned (the minimum height above the ground is 40 cm).

- On top of concrete after drying (5-8 days), waterproofing (roofing material with glued seams) must be put.
- If the foundation height is not enough (for example, before flooring), then brickwork is used. Waterproofing is also applied on top of brickwork.

Some schemes offer cutting rectangular elements in the top of the structure that fix the boiler at the desired height. The gaps between them provide the departure of smoke. The advantage of this design is the thickness of the walls: due to this, it can last a long time. Topies of such furnaces often do not supply doors. Air flow is regulated by partial closure of the light of the furnace. Since the lower part of the cylinder is quite stable, the legs can not be supplied with the legs.
You can make a design from the wheels of a passenger car. Only steel elements made by stamping are suitable for it. After that, the structure is turned into a cylinder and welding throughout the joint line. You can put the stove directly on the soil or on the prepared base.
Pipe stove from a pipe
Initially, you will have to solve the problem. What to choose, a pipe for a cauldron or a cauldron under the pipe.
So that the dishes do not fall, or does not stick out more than the norm, you have to work hard.
The cauldron must fall into the fire or completely (with the exception of the upper border and “ears”) or. At 3/4 of its height.

We know that you have a piece after cutting the hole. No, it will not work: it will be inaccurate.
On the bottom of the door, make a row of 5-7 holes with a diameter of 15-20 mm.
The door will require loops and latch.
Loops can be made from nuts and bolts, pieces of reinforcement, scraps of sheet steel.

It is convenient to make a pair of handles from a rod 10 mm for carrying a furnace.
The legs are good to make from the corner and fix the bolts to the lower sheet of the furnace. If necessary, they can be removed from the cooled furnace.
If you use a cauldron of 10-20 liters, then choose the length of the legs so that the stove is to the waist. For heavy cauldrons, it is better to make a stove more squat: less convenient, but more stable.
The height of the chimney is more than 1.5 m to do no sense. In our case, the pipe only needs to remove smoke from the cooking zone.
It is not necessary to make a fungus or knee on top of the chimney. Such parts are installed to protect the furnace from precipitation (which is irrelevant for this type of stove), and the thrust is reduced.
And yet, if you use the stove stationary, just make the cover on the chimney or remove the pipe from the stove.
For fastening the pipe, a glass of 10-15 cm is welded, the size of the pipe.
This glass should not interfere with the cauldron from the inside and the gap of 5 cm should remain.
Gather the stove and check: is everything okay? If not correct.
Before painting, clean the stove from the outside of rust and paint the composition for metal furnaces.
The paint will partially burn over the season and it is better to update it for the winter. So much more beautiful.
Tools and materials for work
To make a stove for a cauldron from the disks with your own hands, you will need a regular set of arsenal of a home master with roulette, sandpaper and wrench, as well as:
- 1 meter of a rectangular pipe;
- 3 large bolts and nuts;
- A cut of wire 8 mm in diameter;
- 4 nuts at 10;
- Corner grinder with nozzles for working on metal;
- Welding apparatus, electrodes and protective equipment (mask, ends, apron).
As for the discs themselves, the stove for the cauldron will need only two. The radius depends on the size of the dishes in which you will cook. For a small pot there is enough two discs from cars of a standard 13th or 14th radius. But for a voluminous boiler designed for a large company, you can also find wheels from trucks.
Advice! It is best to take stamped steel discs, but the cast ones will not last long. They are made of aluminum alloys that are unstable to high temperatures.
How to use it correctly?
Do not immediately start cooking pilaf on a new device. First you need to burn the remaining oils from the steel. If an old water pipe was used, all the inner surfaces are cleaned with a metal brush to metal. Then the stove is washed with water.
